Apparently, we didn't get individual orders for the Humanitarian Award, but is there a way that I would be able to prove that I was there? I did the training (Basic Wildland Firefighting Course), have an award since we almost died there, and can prove I was in the unit for said operation. I have researched and it shows the Approved Operation for the time we were there off of HRC. However, it doesn't state the units.

Thoughts? How can I find Humanitarian Award orders for 3/327 Inf, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault)? 2018-05-25T13:09:44-04:00 SSG Jason Neumann 3660249

Trying to locate award orders for the Humanitarian effort our unit did back in AUG-SEP2000. You can also look for old milper messages. It basically states that the servicing personnel officer will base decision of the award on the presentation of the documents listed as evidence in the paragraph. So your S1 can enter the data. You may want to contact either the ARNORTH G1 in San Antonio or NORTHCOM J1 at Peterson and see if they have the General Orders. They would be the COCOM for disaster relief inCONUS. Your proof is the unit of assignment and orders/documents that back it up.

I recieved the HA medal for Sandy. We had an O6 memo that was our “order” that went to HRC Response by LTC Jason Mackay made May 27 at 2018 12:11 AM 2018-05-27T00:11:40-04:00 2018-05-27T00:11:40-04:00 SSG Michael Bryant 3664580

If you have deployment orders for that operation, they should suffice as proof for the award. Your award citation may work as well, because it usually states "in support of said operation". Your best bet is to go to the base awards and decs people with your supporting docs, basically everything tied to that operation. If you did not receive an award you were supposed to get. You can get with a former leader and have them recreate it. Officers are never truly retired. If they have a critical skillset or clearance they could be recalled at any time, health providing of course.
