1LT Private RallyPoint Member 3464146

I am currently enlisted in the Army and I'm driving myself crazy over thinking. I've read in a few discussion boards that there are limited spots available after the first board in OCT and for the best results I should have applied then. I didn't apply for 70B then because no active duty spots were open and I wanted to be a 72D. After sending my packet up in Feb for 72D it got sent back with a comment "No AD spots available". Two weeks later a 70B AD spot opened up and I was asked if I wanted to submit my packet for this AOC. Of course I said yes immediately and I'm happy I did because the next day the submission window closed. I've made it through two CV reviews and my packet is currently going through the last BN one this week. The board meets in April and it would the third board all AMED for the FY18. What are my chances of getting selected? How can I find out the number spots available for DC 70B for the AMEDD Board? 2018-03-20T12:24:16-04:00 1LT Private RallyPoint Member 3464146

I am currently enlisted in the Army and I'm driving myself crazy over thinking. I think only the recruiters know the mission of manpower numbers they need for each specific AOC for both AD/Reserves. As april mentioned it , be very close to your recruiter. They can make it or break it for you. My recruiter did an awesome job and I am in the military because of him and others.

What I am surprised they haven't pushed you through with a 72D , that AOC is very limited and when it comes to a cv review they are harsh! , plus they are in demand because its a tough field.

I will tell you perseverance is key, if you don't get selected by any reason , keep trying! I just finished the process and wanted to pull every hair out of my head every step of the way. It will be worth it, stick it thru! Don’t work about how many slots are available. You can’t predict that as the numbers always change. When I was picked up for cyber there was either one slot or just one person in my grade was qualified. Work on the things you can control. Without knowing what your GPA was or if you were ever active active before, it’s kinda of hard to gauge..as I or my other counterparts do not know what your competitors have in their records. We just put up the best qualified applicants we can find and the selection process determines who gets selected. Hopes this helps. Response by SFC A.M. Do you know how many AC boards they have each year, or was it kind of a spur of the moment thing?
