I am currently enlisted in the Army and I'm driving myself crazy over thinking. I've read in a few discussion boards that there are limited spots available after the first board in OCT and for the best results I should have applied then. I didn't apply for 70B then because no active duty spots were open and I wanted to be a 72D. After sending my packet up in Feb for 72D it got sent back with a comment "No AD spots available". Two weeks later a 70B AD spot opened up and I was asked if I wanted to submit my packet for this AOC. Of course I said yes immediately and I'm happy I did because the next day the submission window closed. I've made it through two CV reviews and my packet is currently going through the last BN one this week. The board meets in April and it would the third board all AMED for the FY18. What are my chances of getting selected?

As others have mentioned, the RIGHT recruiter is your best friend. I just finished the process and wanted to pull every hair out of my head every step of the way. It will be worth it, stick it thru!

Your packet will be submitted up and looked at along with everyone that has applied in the country. Without knowing what your GPA was or if you were ever active active before, it’s kinda of hard to gauge..as I or my other counterparts do not know what your competitors have in their records. We just put up the best qualified applicants we can find and the selection process determines who gets selected. Hopes this helps.

Just put forward the best packet you can. Don’t work about how many slots are available. You can’t predict that as the numbers always change. When I was picked up for cyber there was either one slot or just one person in my grade was qualified. Work on the things you can control.
