It might make it tight enough to remain closed.

But, if you break the clamp, then you could Dx the mask.

Better check with someone before you try 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 07 Mar 2018 16:18:11 -0500 2018-03-07T16:18:11-05:00 Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 7 at 2018 4:24 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-can-i-fix-the-pivoting-buckle-clamp-plate-on-my-m50-pro-mask-which-won-t-stay-locked-when-trying-to-tighten-the-head-harness?n=3424425&urlhash=3424425

That mask needs to be turned in to the Company CBRN NCO and exchanged, unfortunately there is not a way to replace that locking part, they will need to get it exchanged through supply, hopefully you are not at fault for this breakage, if you are you will have to pay to replace the mask. You could make it work maybe with some mod's of your own but do you want to trust your unauthorized repairs and test them with your life when a new harness can be gotten from your CBR/NCO? This is something that your life depends on. If it doesn’t work properly then the mask won’t seal. You can put in a work order or speak to your CBRN NCO and get the whole mask replaced. I definitely wouldn’t trust it the way it is. Once again, this isn’t something that you want to even think about doing yourself. It’s a job for the pros. If you have to pay then who cares, if it saves your life it was worth the money. I really don’t see a reason why you would have to pay anyway, it’s not like you’ve done anything to cause this. I’ve seen it happen a lot. It’s just that it wears out over time and different soldiers need to have it to fit properly. No two people are exactly the same. Take it in ASAP.
