SPC Private RallyPoint Member 1706261

In the USAR. I am from Maine, lived in San Diego all of last year for a job opportunity. I am back in Maine, as planned. Reserve component out of SD is not giving me an update on my IRR paperwork & refuses to sign a DA368. My goal is to go active, and my recruiter's hands are tied. I've been advised to email BN Command directly, but I wanted to make one last attempt to solve at lowest level. How can I gain cooperation from my leadership to process my paperwork? 2016-07-11T08:46:27-04:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 1706261

In the USAR. Go ahead and email some of your senior NCOs and see if they have a clue on a timeline and make sure you have excused absences, or are doing RST. If your NCOs can't get movement, then start going up the chain. Is there a process where you will need to fill paperwork to get this transition completed (If it starts with a DA368, then don't answer that question)?

Start with your SGT of your current command, see if he/she can be able to nudge someone higher in the chain to get something. If they are unwilling to do so, and you have exhausted all other resources for you to use, then I would go higher and if the BN Command is the next step, so be it. I would start low (maybe E-5) in the BN Command then go from there.

***Make sure to document all that you have done so that it won't look like you have went over a bunch of people's heads so if they say that and yet you've used your proof to say "Hey, you didn't/couldn't help me so I decided to get the answers myself so that I can excel my career." ***

You know as well as I do, in the Reserves you have to Check your 6 every second to make sure you don't screw up your career. You are the only one that can do that.

Best of Luck to you! Sorry, not obligated to recommend, sign or award, thus nothing you can do to "force" the issue. Especially since its all uploaded online through HRPAS. If they actually submitted it when they say they did you should have had orders cut by now. As for the 368 they don't have to recommend release but they still should sign it and send higher for their recommendation or declination. I hate to use IG complaints but if they out right refuse to fill out the 368 then you have a case for a complaint. They don't have to recommend you for release but they do have to submit the form and their recommendation for the higher command to make the decision. If you have already spoken to the higher BN and they haven't helped then I would contact IG.
