I need additional 35 active duty days to make total days of 180 days so as to take advantage of the Hazelwood act in texas and save 50% on my cost of tuition. I am currently in the IRR state but honestly do not want to extend my contract.

Well, I would say you need to contact your State IRR. But, if that's what your State IRR is saying you're gonna have to do....

You want the benefits and don't want to do the service? Don't make me laugh, get out leave the benefits to a more deserving soldier.

SGM, this statement may be quite unfair considering I served dutifully for the past six years. Infact, I served more than 180 days but it was broken down to less than 30 days consistently and did not question my unit. Just before my contract expired, I was on duty for two month, 5 days of the week except weekends to accomodate the available budget. I served and did the job and failed to understand that those times will not fit into my DD-214.

I may need to rephrase my question, can I get an active duty order for 35 days probably to support a mission from my IRR period without extending my contract ?

SPC (Join to see) - To be blunt, I really doubt it. What is going to happen, you can apply for orders, but when the powers to be see (and they can) what you are doing, you will have a snowball's chance in hell of getting the orders. They may put some stipulation of "reup" in with it. "They" can see what you are doing and why.
