The problem I am finding is that I am getting a lot of people asking me for an update, this includes my current commander and my civilian employer. How can I get an update when I have asked my recruiter, but all I get in response is that it's still being processed. How can I get an update about my re-enlistment into active duty? 2018-07-12T01:22:03-04:00 SPC(P) Private RallyPoint Member 3786075

I have completed my DA Form 368 and I started and finished all my paperwork with the active duty recruiter. Your 368 has to go up your COC to your first General Officer. Once he approves it then it will get sent back to you for you to bring to the Recruiter. I am still sitting here waiting for my 368 to get approved I have heard from other it can take anywhere from 2-7 months. Just because you gave your Civilian employer a notice that you are trying to go active they cannot just fire you over that look over the patriot act.
Also note I have heard that the Reserve component does not like signing off on new soldiers that they have since they have paid for your schooling ect. So be prepared for it to get turned down since being a PFC it looks like you have not been in your command for that long. I work with a lot of 368’s. They go all the way up your chain of command. As a recruiter once we sign your 368 and you turn it in to your command, there really isn’t anything we can do to speed up the process. Not to mention the Army Reserve is not really approving 368’s at the General level right now.. (I have 4 Reservists waiting to go Active 2 of which are wanting SF contracts). Best thing you do is ask your Chain of Command to follow up with higher echelons.

Good luck with the process bud, hope it works out. Good news is, as soon as that 368 comes back approved you can usually dip out super quick since you don’t need to do a physical (your PHA covers that as long as it is current, so if it’s not get it scheduled). It depends on who the approval authority is at the time. Years ago the company commander could do it, now it’s RSC level for the reserves and AG level for the guard as of 2016 when I retired. But I had contacts that could push those forms through and get them signed so I could get folks into active duty. Your recruiter really can’t do much if they don’t have the network. So you’re going to have to wait. Response by SFC Lee Ingle made Jul 13 at 2018 2:52 PM 2018-07-13T14:52:54-04:00 2018-07-13T14:52:54-04:00 2018-07-12T01:22:03-04:00
