Alexis Dominey 5547854 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I was medically disqualified from the Airforce for NF1 but I only have the genetic code for it and not the symptoms that would affect negatively in any way. I even saw a neurologist and confirmed that there was nothing worng with me. How can I get around being medically disqualified from the Air Force for NF1, but only having the genetic code for it? 2020-02-11T17:29:27-05:00 Alexis Dominey 5547854 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I was medically disqualified from the Airforce for NF1 but I only have the genetic code for it and not the symptoms that would affect negatively in any way. NF1 and NF2, and the history of, are disqualifiers. DoDI 6130.03 does not distinguish between having symptoms or just having the gene marker. Just says history of. And, having the gene markers for it may have fallen into the realm of &quot;history of&quot; for the Air Force. If this was MEPS that DQ&#39;d you.....your fight may very well be done on trying to get in. Unfortunately, you probably don&#39;t have a fight in this as MEPS disqualified you and did not recommend a waiver. <br /><br />There are other avenues to serve that don&#39;t require you to be uniformed. Look into other ways you can help. Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 11 at 2020 7:23 PM 2020-02-11T19:23:00-05:00 2020-02-11T19:23:00-05:00 2020-02-11T17:29:27-05:00
