How can I get medically cleared from the VA in order to go back onto active duty?

I served 10 years active duty, got out almost two years ago, received a rating from the VA, now looking to go back to active duty. Does anyone have experience with this or know of anyone that could give advice as to how to clear claims through the VA?

OK, 1st off, the VA is not the one to ask- you have received a valid VA rating period. You will have to go to a recruiter and get a Medical Doctor ( Military) to state that either the VA was wrong, or that you at FULLY Qualified to enlist in the service. I have seen it happen once in a blue moon, but don't hold your breath. It will be an uphill fight, providing you will find a recruiter willing to tilt at the windmill for you. Also if you have received any VA compensation and the DR says the VA was wrong, the IRS will be around to collect the money.

SGT Chris Hill find a kick ass recruiter. I have been fighting the same fight for 17 years. I only have a 10% rating for something that does not exist anymore (long story, but the reason for discharge never actually existed - was misdiagnosed). The waiver process is changing and may be in your favor right now. Get some documentation from docs regarding the reason for discharge & if they still pose an issue. Get some letters of endorsement from people, especially from those w/ heavy sleeves/shoulders - the heavier, the better.
It isn't an easy road, and be prepared for fights between med board & MEPS CMO & whomever else wants to get in on that fight.

SGT Chris Hill - yeah because your case is very subjective I mean you might or might not need a waiver and if you need a waiver there's is going be questions that only a recruiter can answer you SGT I'm sorry if it's not much of help I was in bind like that going into the Army unfortunately the only people that could help where recruiters and meps.
