You were awarded the award you met the requirements for. Being Infantry in a firefight doesn't automatically meet all the requirements of a CIB.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 11 at 2018 12:12 AM2018-12-11T00:12:40-05:002018-12-11T00:12:40-05:00CPO Private RallyPoint Member4198918<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Sorry brother, but you were not with an Infantry unit doing Infantry stuff, just because you came under fire and your an 11B does not mean you qualify for CIB. We had some Infantry guys from both Marines and Army on JTF, but the JTF mission was not direct action, even though we were in some cases in a more dangerous spot. We gave them all CAB's and Marines could convert to a CAR, but11B types could not.Response by CPO Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 11 at 2018 6:03 AM2018-12-11T06:03:50-05:002018-12-11T06:03:50-05:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member4199054<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You can’t if you don’t hold the infantry mos when you deployedResponse by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 11 at 2018 6:45 AM2018-12-11T06:45:54-05:002018-12-11T06:45:54-05:00SFC Michael Hasbun4199156<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You don't.Response by SFC Michael Hasbun made Dec 11 at 2018 7:33 AM2018-12-11T07:33:26-05:002018-12-11T07:33:26-05:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member4199186<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>As the rest all ready said, it can’t happen. You must hold the 11 series MOS at the time the award was earned. We don't get to pick and choose our awards, or trade up. I would suggest you research what the criteria is for being awarded a CIB. Just because you met the criteria for the CAB does not automatically qualify you for a CIB. You will need to provide a lot more information if you want to get any advice. What makes you believe that you were awarded the wrong award?Response by MSG Steve Wiersgalla made Dec 13 at 2018 11:20 PM2018-12-13T23:20:04-05:002018-12-13T23:20:04-05:00SGT John Fielden4269039<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Get slapped first.<br />Then understand there are no transferrable awards. You received it in a certain associated Non Combat Arms "status" or you received it in Combat Arms status.
