Currently I am in RSP for the National Guard. My ship date is March 21st and I was wondering how I could go active for my job (12T) or the chances they would give me a duty station after AIT. Would they tell me if I have a duty station after AIT or before? I know I could transfer to the Army for full time but I would rather stay in the National Guard if that is possible so I don't have to spend all the time waiting and paperwork for a transfer but it is worth it I am thinking. I know there is AGR and I am not sure how that works so any explaination would be helpful. Thanks. I plan on asking about it next RSP but I would like advice beforehand.

Go active duty; you might have to change your job and ship date but it will be worth it going active first then if you wanna go Guard later then do so. To go AGR you must have a certain amount of time in the military and rank so by time your active duty contract up you will have the option to go AGR.
