Be ready to be put under that same standards as 11B, 25U, 13F, etc. Everyone will be treated to the same standard when you get there.

As for physically and mentally preparing, make sure you’re at least 270 on PT, and can finish a 12 mile ruck with 35-45lbs in under 3 hours. Learn your job as a 25 series, ask all the questions you can, become a subject matter expert in your field.

If you have a significant other/wife, understand that you will be gone as little as 3 months, maybe more to earn your tan beret. If they are comfortable with moving with you to wherever you end up, then that is a lot easier to deal with. Be able to make decisions under stress and pressure, stand out above your peers, and be a team player. Don’t try to one-man Army everything, that doesn’t sit too well with your peers as it will with the cadre.SSG(P) Private RallyPoint MemberTue, 23 Jan 2018 19:46:11 -05002018-01-23T19:46:11-05:00Response by LTC Johnlee Argue made Jan 23 at 2018 8:23 PM

Concur with physical and family!
Mental: Know the Ranger Creed - absorb each stanza so you are able to recite them when you are out of breath or after a difficult decision. BPT answer the question of what each stanza means to you - it is such a special promise to yourself and others that it deserves your self reflection (this will keep you going in a dark time or when you are just exhausted).
Since you are in AIT and do not have much alone time, go to church or mass. Why not? use the time to pray or meditate.
Please please do not get into trouble! This derails superheros before they can get out of the gate. Focus on your goal, eyes bright and head up! but don’t brag about going to the Regiment.
All the Best!
