How can I ship my POV to my first duty station?

Just got to my first duty station, I already have a pov & I heard at they ship it to you the first time, I just don't know the details

I don't think you'll find any details. I've never heard of that ever happening for a new recruit being stationed stateside.

SPC Private RallyPoint Member Ask your Squad Leader. He or She will get you pointed in the right direction.
Usually, depending on where your POV is located, they'll allow you to pick it up either during a 4 day pass or when you take leave.

Check your orders it will say that you are aloud to ship a pov at Government Expense, as a first termer I'm not sure that is possible but you are aloud house hold baggage up to 500 lb, just go to the transportation office and request it, you will need five sets of orders. I help my nephew do this right out of basic training and he had no issues and they came to his mothers house and picked up all of his things but you have to go through the Transportation Office at your post. You can also ask about shipment of a POV.

No one during your AIT provided that information for you? Depends on if you're CONUS or OCONUS. I would contact my nearest Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) and ask.

I doubt it’ll happen. They didn’t let me ship mine from basic, and I spoke with the transportation office. Good luck.

The Government will never ship Your POV on a first enlistment only after four years active duty service is completed with at least an E4 pay grade and unless its changed only to or from an overseas station where it isn't possible to drive from. Your orders should reflect what You can and cannot ship at Government expense including maximum weight. The transportation office can answer any questions Your not sure about and sometimes things change but Your assignment orders should reflect that. I wouldn't depend on what anyone told You by the grape vine, if Your orders don't specifically authorize it in writing then its isn't going to happen.

Normally for OCONUS, you will have to get it approved- they didn't do it at CONUS posts.
