When I went to look on tour of Duty, I had to do it from my Army reserve unit. You can also volunteer for positions with the MOS 01A as those are branch immaterial. As others have said, you'll need to check TOD on a networked computer. There are also some opptys that get posted on S1 Net (your admin folks should get the emails) and the MIRC seems to always be looking for a SM or 2 to go somewhere. If you are not school qualified for your branch, you likely will not be able to deploy. They would much prefer to MOB people who want to go rather than track down those who don't.

Also sign up for S1 Net. They have unit vacancy postings many for deployments as well. This should be cac accessible from Non DOD computers. If your RRC has any openings that you can fill he will pull you, all you have to do is let him know. The problem is there are not near as many opportunities these days. Back in 2007 when I was a UA in the 88th RRC all I had to do was call him and give him the soldiers info, usually they would come down on orders when in a few weeks.
