How can someone get their DD Form 214 after terminal leave?

I was speaking with a young Marine that just recently ETSed out of the service. Before he left Camp Pendleton , they told him they would send him his DD Form 214 to home of record, that was 6 months ago. Can anyone give me any information to pass along to this young devil dog to help him?

Have him go to the local VA representative in his county.

Hmm I received my DD214 before I went on terminal at Lejeune strange. But I would first tell him to contact his prior unit Admin shop I'm sure they can get it for him. If not the next step would be he can request his record through HQMC. which I have done before to get my full record book which was still missing stuff lmao

I don't think this matters more than a hill of beans, but I got my DD214 at the out processing unit.

You should not leave without it as you sign it on the spot (CAC). He needs to call the office he outprocessed that said they'd mail it.

I really question this. Before you can leave a station you have to sign your DD-214. I am not sure how you could sign it and then not have it. He should be able to contact his last post admin section that cleared him to find out where it is. Whenever i hear anything like this I am very suspect.

go to eBenefits, set up an account if you have done so, select the manage tab on the main navigation bar, go to document and records, then select military personnel file, follow the prompts and you will be able to download a copy of your DD Form 214 Service Copy 2. Give it a day or so, but when it's available for download you will get an email telling you so, so follow the same steps on eBenefits and you will see the option to download.

It should have been there shortly after ETS date. Mine arrived with notation SM not available for signature. Has he moved from the address he had on his records ?
If it still has not shown up he should request one with his MPRJ-201 file.
The one in the 201 file should be Service 2 (page 2 of a multipart form) and much a clearer copy.
