How closely are you really following the Presidential race?

Looking through this site and reading news feed; I am just wondering how close are Veterans/Service Members really watching the daily developments around the race for President. Can you name which primary was held on Monday without using Google? Can you name the 3 republican candidates? Who's platform do you feel best falls in line with your personal ideas? Are you following along at all?

I try to catch all the debates and watch the polls, interviews, etc. My pull is for Cruz at this point. But won't be upset if Trump wins.

SGT Ben Keen It was Wisconsin, Bernie's fifth win in six primaries. I really don't care who is the RNC or the DNC candidate. I really would love to see the loser of the nominations run independently. It would allow other parties' candidates to become more visible to the public. I will be voting for Gary Johnson when the time comes. Win or lose I will have voted for the candidate that I personally feel is the highest quality candidate. My conscience will be clear.

I check on the polls about twice a week. I'm not so much focused now on debates and speeches as I know where most of the candidates stand. If any of the candidates say something interesting, it will be posted all over social media anyway.

I never was much concerned with politics and government. I lived my life as a free citizen in what was supposed to be a nation that celebrated individuality. I lived in blissful ignorance of the fact that a cancer was growing in the District of Calamity, one which metastasized throughout every aspect of my life. My individuality is now seen as a threat to those who seek to control We the People in every aspect of our lives. We are now expected to support a bureaucracy that threatens to topple our nation just as the Soviet bureaucracy toppled theirs. So, yes, I am now belatedly interested in politics and following the elections very closely. I am writing and speaking with anyone who will listen, calling attention to the danger. Sadly, it seems that many (hopefully not most) of my fellow citizens are enchanted by the Siren Song of big brother...

I am watching the Dem race pretty closely. It doesn't matter who the GOP runs. They can't win.

Plus when the talking heads talk about the GOP candidates they talk breathlessly about a bunch of crap that doesn't matter.

Starting to get a little bored because of the repetitiveness on all the news channels. I want it to be over, but at the same time I'm scared of the aftermath as well. There's only one candidate that I really want to not win, and anyone besides her would be acceptable, so that's not so much what worries me. What scares me is rhat, after months of seeing people accused of racism, stupidity, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia, and every phobia or ism you can imagine, I'm afraid that the viciousness and name-calling will only get worse after defeat and victory have happened. Add to those the almost certain gloating and resentment and it's going to be pretty unpleasant for quite a while.

The race itself? - About as much as I keep track of which sodas are served at specific restaurants.

Government & Politics in general? - Much more closely. I follow SCOTUS decisions, and the news, as well as several other feeds.

One is the "illusion of choice" but when it really boils down to it "Do you want Coke or Pepsi?" whereas tracking what is happening overall gives me a broader knowledge base.

I don't attend debate parties or anything, but I listen on talk radio and follow the news. Honestly it's hard to pick a true platform that fits with my personal ideas. Definitely Cruz or Trump, but watching them act a fool during debates can be frustrating. It's important for us to follow what is going on especially if we are registered as a Republican since the convention is coming up and there is rumor of changing the rules which would allow someone who didn't receive the majority of delegates to win the nomination. This takes the nomination out of the hands of the people and I feel there will be unrest in the nation if it happens. No matter who that candidate is.

Every election should be treated as the most important of your lifetime, because it very well may be.

At this point in the race I am following all candidates rather closely. I am absolutely disgusted with Trump and Cruz, am ideologically opposed to Kasich though I do respect him as an honorable politician. Between Sanders and Clinton I am currently supporting Clinton. As a left-of-center moderate I honestly believe Sanders is just too far left, but if he does become the nominee I would support him over any of the three Republicans as I am still closer to Sanders than to anyone on the other side.

As much as I love political debate I'm afraid it's pretty much a done deal...Hillary is going to win because the mainstream media gives her a free pass on everything and the numbers are stacked against conservatives when you consider the Dems pedigrees (entitlement crowd, illegals, unions, and multi-voters to include the dead on the rolls).

SGT Ben Keen I have to admit that I follow it very closely. Although I have FOX News on most of the day in my office, I do periodically change to CNN (and even MSNBC) periodically to see how certain things are being covered by the "other side" (yes, I am adamantly opposed to Hillary being President -- or Bernie for that matter, although Hillary was clearly anointed by the Liberals/Democrats early on).

I am not a fan of any of the candidates and think our country surely could do better, but, it is what it is. I can't wait for the real race, when whomever the Republican candidate is goers against Hillary. That's when the fireworks will really start. I hope the Republican candidate pulls no punches with that pathological liar, corrupt, criminal Hillary Clinton. Both McCain and Romney played too nice with Obama and I hope the Republicans learned their lesson. They need to tell it like it is and lay it o=all on the table. Hillary has more skeletons in her closet than the Body Farm guy in Knoxville, and the Republicans need to ensure they all come tumbling out and are exposed to the light of day.

To me this has become the most important elections in my lifetime. After watching this great country of ours slowing slide down hill under Bush's last year in office and the Obama administration, I want to make sure we get it back on track. Am I excited with the current candidates and the process to date....heck no! There is little substance in the debates and news reporting. I am tired of the personal and vindictive slams involving wives and other BS. If you go the candidates' web sites you will see policy an talking point papers which is a good thing but you would think the press would do a better job of forcing Cruz, Trump, Kirsch, Clinton and Sanders into more informative discussions. Also, all this talk of "brokered conventions" is turning me off. If it keeps up, I just might form a third party and steal the election from both the GOP and DNC...just kidding.

I feel that Bernie and the American people are getting ripped off by Super Delegates. I think the republican caucus will be must watch TV. I think changes need to happen in both parties.

I live in Asia and access to US news sources is limited (THANKFULLY). We are spared all the adverts and the news sources usually limit political chatter to the first 15 minutes of a 2 hour news block. Sanders, Clinton, Trump, Cruz & Kasich...This is the best we have to offer our country?

Not as closely as I was last month; I'm mainly watching delegate counts and "big" story lines. Pretty much in a holding pattern until July and convention season.
