How common is a compassionate reassignment?

I have soft orders to Korea. My family is unable to go due to my daughters EFMP status and care she needs. Along with my wife having a high risk pregnancy. I applied for compassionate reassignment but things seem to keep getting pushed back. I am now approaching my pcs date. How likely is it that my compassionate reassignment would be accepted?

Compassionate reassignments are approved all the time for valid reasons. All you need is your BDE CDR endorsement. Once that's signed and it reaches HRC, your orders will be placed on hold and they will make a decision within 30days.

However, Korea is not a location where families are entitled to go, it is a dependent restricted tour. It's an exception when your family goes, so not being able to bring them is not a valid reason to not go to Korea. Your spouse's high risk pregnancy is not a reason to defer a Korea tour, just a reason to defer it for a while. After the baby is born, if it's healthy, your spouse is not longer in danger and you are not required to be around. Again, it's a dependent restricted tour, most people are there without family.

They are very common for those who are eligible. But as SFC Boyd stated there are more things to it when it regards stuff like Korea. Unaccompanied tours and compassionate reassignment tours and two different things.
