I do like to voice my opinion... And voice does not mean be loud and obnoxious.

MAJ David Vermillion
SPC Cody Bernardy. I believe you can have a voice with respect. I think most of us want to be heard and understood, to achieve this it's important to have the right approach to get someone to listen.

MAJ David Vermillion In public, I show consideration for others. No loud talking, swearing, or otherwise rude behavior.

LTC Stephen C.
I think Captain Woodrow Call (in Lonesome Dove) said it best. After beating a man nearly to death for hitting Newt, he climbs on his horse and looks at the horrified townspeople and says, "I hate rude behavior in a man. I won't tolerate it." As the Commander of the local American Legion for the past 5 years it seems as though everyone in the village knows me and my house. So when I speak in public I do keep it on the subject and try hard not to comment on Political issues, and if I absolutely have to I make sure it is understood it is me speaking and not the American Legion. However that changes in the middle of Jun when the new Commander takes over.

SFC Everett Oliver
MAJ David Vermillion - Absolutely, it goes back to my Platoon Sergeant days, I taught my Sergeants to speak on their own authority. Never did I allow them the words Sgt Oliver said or the LT said. So today when I say something it's me saying it, the only way I know.
