I turned 18 a month and a half before starting basic training as a 19D on August 7, 1990. I was 18.5 at the start of the war.

As "low man on the totem pole", I was picked one night during a skud attack to take my mask off while everyone observed me. fun times.

I turned 19 in Nov 1989 , I was 19 1/2 when I went to iraq , gulf war was :Aug 2, 1990 – Feb 28, 1991

I had 2 Soldiers turn 19 shortly after the ground war ended. Lots of young troops.

I was in the 24th I.D. There was a 17 year old that stepped on a mine in my battalion.

I turned 18 in late October of 1990. I thought I was the youngest, but there could be a few younger. I would be interested to know too.

I was 17 when I started basic training 24 July 90 and turned 18 during basic training on 13 September 90. I deployed with 1st ID to Desert Shield/ Desert Storm 15 December 90.

I joined at 17, deployed late 1990 and spent my 18th birthday in Abu Dhabi December of 1990 right before we transitioned from desert shield to desert storm.

I deployed to the Gulf War Nov 1990 - May 1991. I turned 18 on Dec 25th 1990. US Army (was ADA at the time out of Fort Bliss).
