How difficult is it getting a waiver to re-enlist with an RE-4 (BCD)? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-difficult-is-it-getting-a-waiver-to-re-enlist-with-an-re-4-bcd

Terrible decisions were made and I regret it, but I don’t want them to follow me for the rest of my life. Before I mustered out, the Army was my dream since I was kid, my life for the first four years of adulthood and frankly, I loved it. I read that a waiver is attainable, potentially, but I was wondering if anyone had an idea or articles that could lead me to (potentially) getting back in, even if I have to deal with “Needs of the Army”, but going back to 11B would be preferred.

Any info provided is appreciated. A bad conduct discharge isn't easy to get so you really screwed up bad. You chances fall in two categories, slim and none. Fight it if you like but it will be like climbing a straight vertical ice all with no equipment, not even cleats. Good luck to you but don't hold your breath. Then worry about the separation code from there. You'll have to seek the US army discharge view board. I'd seek VA or find a local VSO who may be willing to help you work through the upgrade process. At best you may be able to get the RE code upgraded to a 3. Even then you'll need a waiver for the separation narrative. If this is something illegal that would require jag or legal advice. Normally it can't happen unless war or something breaks out. Forget the reserves or active duty. Only a national guard recruiter may be able to help an even then it will be hard. I'd say look into becoming a police officer or something at the state level. Federal jobs would even be hard with a BCD. The odds are not even looking like plausible. But don't take our word for it. Seek out a Recruiter. Dont be surprised, though, when you're told no.
