SFC Private RallyPoint Member 3848 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am stationed in Germany and my wifes Grandparents are in Arizona. Her grandfather is about to pass which would leave&amp;nbsp;her grandmother in a nursing home. She has Alzheimers and the last thing that my wife wants is for her to be in a nursing&amp;nbsp;home. Is it possible for me to claim her as my dependant and move her over to Germany? If so, how do I go do it? Thanks for your help. How do I claim my Grandmother as my dependant? 2013-11-06T09:03:05-05:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 3848 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am stationed in Germany and my wifes Grandparents are in Arizona. CPT AuBuchon&#39;s DFAS link is correct. Just follow the instructions and fill out the paperwork and you will fax in the documentation to the dependency section at DFAS. Once they make a determination on dependency, they will mail or email back the forms required to add your parent into DEERS. The entire process takes about 90 days from submission on your part. Just check in every month to get a status on the application. They were finished for about two weeks and they didn&#39;t notify me. I took the paperwork that was mailed to me into my servicing DEERS office and they enrolled her into DEERS and gave her a dependent ID card. Tricare is another story though. My mom only qualified for Tricare Direct Care. There was a better program before, however due to sequestration, the program was defunded. Hope this helps you out. Starting a similar situation with my mother-in-law. Do you have any advice?
