A few months after I arrived, roughly July or August, I found the duty title was incorrect on my ERB, it states a 35P but I’m a 35G. I brought this up to my COC and to S1 but it hasn’t been corrected. I talked with a SFC, we talk about different issues a lot that really don’t pertain to the Army and he’s not in my COC, to see his opinion and he says I probably got moved here and stuck in a slot since one wasn’t open for my MOS. I understand this and was just waiting for a slot to open but a few months later we received another 35G and then just last month another 35G, both holding the correct Duty title on their ERB. I just want to know proper steps to fix this so I don’t go to a board with a messed up ERB or get questioned on why I don’t know anything about the MOS I’m slotted for. If there isn’t a slot open any more, would I even be able to laterally or PCS to be moved to a proper spot? How do I correct the duty title on my ERB? 2020-04-17T02:39:43-04:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 5784749

So I’m not complaining about anything I’m just trying to fix this issue with my ERB.

I’ve been stationed at my current unit since May 2019 after failing Airborne school and being stuck there as a hold over for ten weeks. The current one is set by the slot you're in. It really doesn't matter right now. If you get promoted and get an NCOER, make sure it's right on there and then make your ERB match it and you'll be fine.

Good Luck Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 17 at 2020 6:18 AM 2020-04-17T06:18:36-04:00 2020-04-17T06:18:36-04:00 MAJ Private RallyPoint Member 5786254

The assignment info doesn't matter, it's just the slot on the MTOE where the unit has you assigned. This will not matter at this point in your career. As long as you are doing your job, it’s not an issue.

No, you can not request to be moved because your SRB is showing something else. You don’t get to move because you want to. If this is really bothering you to your core, then I can offer a few thoughts.
1. Are you at the BDE, BN, or Co level. Your BDE or BN may have the slot for your MOS, but it may not be in your Co. Your can view paragraph and line number info for your unit in FMS.web
2. If you are preparing for the promotion board, then I would make sure that you are seeking self development such as:
a. Correspondence hours
b. Military Courses
c. At least 30 for Wpns
d. 240+ APFT
e. College Enrollment
Remove Incoming Personnel
All these will out-way the fact that a 35G is in a 35P MTOE position.

3. Perform! You can find what your CMF expects from a 35P, and do it. In my opinion, your MTOE position doesn’t matter if you are producing superior results. I spent the first 5 yrs of my career, PV2-SGT(P), working in a different Signal MOS. In the long run, I think it helped me more than anything else.
