SSG Private RallyPoint Member 6599070 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have been DA selected to attend the Drill Sergeant Academy. How is the selection process carried out? My gt score is 94 and the requirements state that it needs to be at least 100. Secondly how do I go about acquiring a waiver? The commanders checklist states I can be waived by the HRC commander but I can&#39;t seem to find any info on that. Any help would be appreciated and thank you in advance. How do I get a GT score waiver for Drill Sergeant school? 2020-12-22T01:02:49-05:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 6599070 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have been DA selected to attend the Drill Sergeant Academy. You need a 100 GT to volunteer for DS assignment. HRC placed you on the assignment, so HRC has already granted the waiver. In fact, if you were to look in the special instructions in EDAS it would say GT waiver has been approved Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 22 at 2020 1:14 AM 2020-12-22T01:14:51-05:00 2020-12-22T01:14:51-05:00 MAJ Javier Rivera 6599092 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You’ve been voluntold by HRC <a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="1403026" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/1403026-91a-enlisted-m1-abrams-tank-system-maintainer">SSG Private RallyPoint Member</a>, and took care of those little inconveniences for you. Now focus on your preparation. You didn’t ask but the greatest challenge NCOs face is fatigue, it leads to lapses in judgement/overall mental capacity. Fatigue can be mitigated through fitness. Be as for as you can heading to the Academy. When you go through the rigors of the drills and evaluations your fitness level will greatly increase your ability to work through the evaluation. Anyway, I am sure you knew this, just hitting it home as all to many NCOs feel they are fit for regular duty, they can handle the rigors of DI. I argue that it is not the case. The average NCO is not physically ready, which again leads to mental lapses that can result in failure. Waiting on DA to grant a waiver can be clocked in Geological time. That said if you were DA select, and no one asks, be like Vegas and let it ride!
