How do I get Army Reserve time credited for TIS and reflected on an ORB/IPERMS?

Recently transitioned from the Army Reserve to Active Duty. While reviewing my records I found that there was no time credited for my reserve period. I am aware that there will not be an entire 6 year credit, and that most people get around 6mo to 1yr of AFS time?

How do I get this time credited and reflected on an ORB/IPERMS?

Where are you expecting to see this time created?

The only place reserve time will count is for pay on your LES. That ain't half bad!

There is no conversion. Your reserve time is credited on your LES, your active time is credited on your ORB. If you've never served any time in an active status, then you have no active time

When you transition over the personnel section at your incoming installation will adjust as needed. If you have active time they may give you a new BASD. Your PEBD will stay the same. I had this happen to me. I did lose some time but it will be credited for my years of service when I retire but now for pay. So when I retire at 20 years I will be treated as if I retired with 22 years. It is a bit complicated. I was active most of the time I was in the guard.

Good question CH (1LT) Private RallyPoint Member … You'll have to work with your HR- Personnel Services section to do a "pay inquiry" and to get your TIS updated. Only time on active duty, Annual Training (AT), Active Duty Training (ADT), Active Duty for Schools (ADTS), or Active Duty Operational Support (ADOS) would qualify. If any National Guard Time is "State Active Duty" this would not qualify for TIS credit.

I’m pretty sure each day of active service you performed in the Reserve should backdate your BASD. For example, let’s say someone served 365 days on active duty while in the Reserve. This include IET, AT, ADOS, etc. If they entered the Regular Army on June 1, 2020, their BASD should be backdated to June 1, 2019.
