How do I get my contract switched from reserves to active (split option)?

I'm currently in high school and I went to basic training last summer. I don't ship to AIT until 11July. I just want to know if it's possible for me to get switched from reserves to active and how would I go about doing that? I'm not a fan of the part time soldier thing. I just want to be in full time.

Well, you certainly won't be able to do anything until you graduate. That being said, have you contacted your Recruiter to see what can be done? They will, after all, have the better answers as they are the SME's.

I had to wait a minimum of 2 years before I could make the switch from the Reserves to Active Duty. Remember though, you may ASK your unit to release you so you can go active, but they are not REQUIRED to. If your unit does not want to release you, you may have to wait out your contract and then go active.
