How do I get my contract switched from reserves to active (split option)? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-do-i-get-my-contract-switched-from-reserves-to-active-split-option <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I&#39;m currently in high school and I went to basic training last summer. I don&#39;t ship to AIT until 11July. I just want to know if it&#39;s possible for me to get switched from reserves to active and how would I go about doing that? I&#39;m not a fan of the part time soldier thing. I just want to be in full time. That being said, have you contacted your Recruiter to see what can be done? They will, after all, have the better answers as they are the SME&#39;s. Remember though, you may ASK your unit to release you so you can go active, but they are not REQUIRED to. If your unit does not want to release you, you may have to wait out your contract and then go active.
