I have a warrant packet pending, and I am pretty confident it is solid enough to get picked up. Once my packet is approved, what steps do I follow to get my recruiting orders cancelled. I already know warrant orders supersede recruiting orders, but I don't know the exact steps to take to ensure the recruiting orders go away. How do I get orders cancelled? 2020-09-09T12:50:58-04:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 6294910

I came down on recruiting orders. Or recruiter branch? Doesn't mean he will take you off of orders but that's how you start the process. Having confidence you are selected as a warrant officer is not as solid as having orders for recruiting. I was confident I would get picked up to be a warrant but it took two times at the board for selection. I was also confident I would be picked up for a direct commission program but there was a delay in the process and it took six additional months for them to go through the process.
When you are selected, being positive for you, it will all fall into place. you will be sent where you need to be sent and orders that need to be cancelled will be cancelled. I have seen soldiers show up for duty only to be told they got orders for something else a week later and they were gone. Hopefully it will all get settled before you go to recruiting school.

Good luck. Ask to push the orders past the selection date and go from there. Part of the AECP packet was a conditional release from branch. Unfortunately I wasn’t selected for AECP so I ETS’d and did it on my own. You still have to execute the current orders at hand. If/When your Warrant package gets approved you will execute those orders but it has to be approved before that conversation can take place. Just stay positive and wait for word. If you tried to coordinate this in advance it will just make for a bunch of awkward conversations.
