I have never found a mechanism to sort posts in any view. Period. Don't think it exists.
As a professional opinion it is a HUGE failure in design and usability.

SSgt (Join to see) The "Tag" system used on this platform would do a great job of sorting content for users, if only correct Tagging was not ignored or misunderstood by many users. Additionally, making the usefulness of the tag system worse is a minority group of members who post extensively, intentionally abusing the tag function.

SGM Erik Marquez - And I disagree. You have users that use many social platforms and this is the ONLY platform with rules around tags. What tagging correctly actually means is anyone's guess. I've had #humor changed to #meme, #covid (the actual tag) changed every single time EVEN WHEN it was a full Fauci article on Covid. I, personally, gave up on tags as no matter what I did, or which questions I asked THEY NEVER GOT ANSWERED - or if they did it was simply BECAUSE.
I've been architecting and developing software for going on 40 years now. I actually wrote my first program way back in 1977. I've written I don't know how many tagging systems. I've worked on at least a dozen "social sites" starting with BBSes in the pre-internet days all the way up to Social Site engines over the last 15 years.
I've never had a suggested tag get added to the available tags. Not! One! Single! Tag! Over! The! Last! 5! Years!
As far as sorting?! That is a joke. I go to the home page and within 4 pages I am hitting posts that can be 1, 2 or even 3 years old AND I never see posts that were posted today. I can go to the Feed page (or whatever you call it) with the same results. I can look up a tag, go to the tag page and there is no date/time sorting involved. It just seems random.
Tags do now allow for "trending". To be able to trend a tag has to be actually used more and more until it reaches a threshold (usually some formula of active user count vs tag count over a predefined period of time) so we have no page to see trending tags. And tags are usually freeform - meaning I can tag with #CO19 which would be different that #COVID but that is on me. Users catch on really quick to how to use tags, support trending tags, and yes, sometimes abuse tags. For instance, I just popped open my feed on LinkedIn and the very first post in the feed had these tags: #mba #veterans #opentowork #supplychain #combatveteran #logistics.
As far as abuse - yes, there is abuse and if you REALLY LISTENED to the users you would find they feel ABUSED by a small cadre of Admins. I've had more than a score of people I have met and respected either quit or been kicked off this site. All with the same complaint. All against the same admin(s). Coincidence?
My original response was not about tags themselves. It was about a lack of sorting and/or filtering when on certain pages in the system. But I see the criticism cannot be passed on to the tech team but rather I get (semi) scolded because certain people abuse the broken tag system.
