First time no sponsor. Got off the plane in Frankfurt. Told to catch a train and get off at Nuremberg. First time oversea, fresh from Kansas, had no idea where the ### it was. Luckly an older German, told me where to get off. 2nd tour, had a sponsor, but was worthless. So if todays Army is any better, which it doesnt sound like it don&#39;t worry about a sponsor and enjoy yourself. Oh, I went to Germany in 1980. One thing I do recommend is get a calling card and call the Rammstein inns and set up a reservation, they can do reservations up to 30 day at a time and you can reserve early to make sure you have lodging to save you off post cost. If you have animals make sure they are ready to fly with microchip, &amp; rabies vaccine, kennels, and the cost per animal (varies off size &amp; weight). If you take care of some of the leg work prior to your trip you&#39;ll save yourself some heartache when you arrive. Also look in to the yard sale websites, they can be a good spot to buy secondhand vehicles and goods for a lower price out here. For any questions, u can download WhatsApp on your phone and contact me in this number coz I know some people in Kaiserslautern who can help us get u situated + [login to see] 44 I am in baumholder which is like 30 mins away from ktown SGT Private RallyPoint Member Sun, 29 Jan 2017 10:32:30 -0500 2017-01-29T10:32:30-05:00 Response by SSG Jeremy Sharp made Jan 30 at 2017 10:36 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-do-i-go-about-applying-for-sponsorship-in-germany?n=2298029&urlhash=2298029 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You may try contact with the unit 1SG requesting assignment of a sponsor to make the transition smoother.
