But my unit was deploying, and dropped a 4187 so I could deploy. Now that I am back and promotable, I need to get it back. I have called branch to no avail. Anyone have any ideas? How do I go about getting my ALC school slot back? 2015-09-26T11:08:21-04:00 SFC(P) Private RallyPoint Member 995741 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I had an ATTRS slot for Infantry man ALC at Fort Benning in March. They should be more than willing to figure out how to send you to an NCOES school. ALC selection is an automated process based on the OML, conducted at HQDA. I would probably check with your schools NCO in Bn S-3, but you should be back on orders before too long automatically, I would think. Good luck. Many times there are no shows or cancellations, like in your case. Your ATARs manager or schools manager at the BN or BDE should also be able to see all available seats and help you. I recommend the Program managers in your COC route first before calling about walk on status. Your BN shcools NCO will also be valuable and may call on your (as well as others) behalf. So don't circumvent them, it may cause more confusion and duplication of efforts. More than likely the NCOA will tell them to push the 4187, but NCOA will give the most updated information for what needs to be put on the 4187. DA has a tight-hold on the ATTRS reservations, so involving your entire food chain will assist with over-watch as your request is processed. Not sure if it really happened but a couple months after deployment he got a school date. I say keep calling you bound to get someone. Also, since you are promotable, you will get an ATRRS slot soon. Keep in mind that ALC is always running out of availability. DON'T ever drop an NCOES course for anything. You could get passed over if your not careful and gettin passed over can get you thrown out because you fail to promote. Go see your immediate superior and start to work your COC. I am a Commander and I track my NCOs training for this reason. Go with your team leader to your 1SG and get in front of S1 ASAP Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 27 at 2015 4:55 PM 2015-09-27T16:55:00-04:00 2015-09-27T16:55:00-04:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 998705 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Hound higher schools NCO about any and all options including upcoming mtt at nearby reserve/guard locations. Then submit a DA 4187 thru your S1. Currently they are changing the system to enable the STEP program to become the standard. Depending on your MOS you may be limited on the class dates. Go to ATRRS and see the phase 2 class dates put that in your DA 4187. The STEP program will look for SGT (P) who need ALC to pin SSG as first dibs in my opinion.<br /><br />Any other questions let me know.
