I left Active Duty in 2005 and re-enlisted a couple of months later in the Reserves. My records from request from Active Duty produced a DD-214 and a few months later a correction to the DD-214. The only thing I ever received from the Reserves was a single piece of paper with my name, rank, and the comment "Honorably discharged from reserve component".

All depends on which blocks you selected on the SF 180. If you selected them all, and only received those little amount of documents, then someone somewhere did not do what they were supposed to do. If they aren't with the National Archives, you can possibly try HRC to see if they can access old documents (possible but also possibly not viable). You could also try contacting your old Reserve unit to see if they still have records. Again, possible but not possibly viable. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

What state were you in when you were recruited and went through your entrance physical and where you took your oath? Find out what the phone number is for the state, the state you were in when you enlisted, department that handles veterans. They should have copies of some of your records but most importantly they know where your records are stored. Give them a call.

Your service is recent enough that most of the important records are most likely available online. Get a DS Logon ID and password and look for the my records portal link at http://www.hrc.army.mil
