I'm in the same boat with a 4 year old. Doesn't give a flying crap. He's having fun, and ain't got any time for something stupid like sitting on the crapper. My wife has taken to making him sit on the "potty chair" at regular intervals through the day. It helps some, but not 100%. It's extremely frustrating. Patience. and more patience. The one thing that they do is every 20 mins they take them to the restroom, this really helps because when she's at home she uses it by herself. So he hated it, and then I come in to allow him to run around and dirty his pant and make a big deal out of it. less than a week, he requested to sit on potty himself, and tell us when he is done. Then we pretty much use the actual Toilet as a reward. He can only sit on the toilet by request and we don't force him to sit there until he is done, in two days, he love the toilet and want to go away from the potty :).
