People with PTSD are confronted by variables like mental health care, support of the COC, pressures of work, family members, where they are on the continuum of PTSD, and fears. Having said that, I see two paramount imperatives to prevention of suicide. First the person needs to know exactly where to go for help. It has to be crystal clear because suicidal people are often irrational and confused. The second part is to find that magic switch to turn off reasons to die with reasons to live. Perhaps a reason to live is to not hurt and create a precedent for the family. Unfortunately this process is often watered down with don't hurt yourself.
