Hence I served in NE, IL, and IA. I just found a unit that had a slot and asked to join them. I think it is tougher for an officer because there are not as many slots therefore not as many openings. I was in one unit where a major drove 400 miles to make drill. Then contact that unit, as an officer we usually have to interview with the BN CO and SSA prior to being accepted in the slot. Once accepted you do a 4187 with your loosing unit to make the transfer official. They can look up vacancies for you. A request for reassignment (DA Form 4651) needs to be signed by the losing/gaining unit Commanders. There are literally thousands of vacancies for CPTs, shouldn&#39;t be hard to find something.
