The entire program was one long 'check the box' exercise. I went to ACAP with a Soldier that I was chaptering out of the Army. So, for 23 years of service, I received the same four day course of instruction that my Soldier who failed to maintain basic minimum standards was afforded. I think that there should be a Chapter ACAP and a retirements / honorable discharge ACAP. Also, there are ACAP and TGPS (Transition, Goals, Progress, and Success) courses available to everyone on JKO. You also maintain the ability to access ALMS (Army Learning Management System) upon ETS. I agree with CW3 Michael Danberry, you only get out of it what you put in it. Now as an Operations Director with my own territory in the private sector, I have been coordinating with the ACAP office at the local Post to attend the Employer Workshop day to help mentor other transitioning service members and represent my company as a whole, in an effort to help Veteran's find solid employment with a solid company (I love my job!).
