How do you feel about the Obama Homeland Security and Law Enforcement targeting Veterans as terrorist?

Obama administration using Homeland Security specifically to target military Veterans. The Obama administration is also turning over military vehicles and equipment to local law enforcement to militarize them. Indiana Police Sergeant Dan Downing admitted that the militarization of domestic law enforcement was partly to deal with returning veterans who are now seen as a homegrown terror threat.

I think the U.S. Government is somewhat in fear of veterans because we could pose a serious threat in an armed revolution(which I am not endorsing nor do I support use of violence for political gain). We are the ones who have seen first hand the results of our foreign policy good or bad. No I don't think it's fair to target us, but I can see why they are doing it.

Wartime vets returning home to peacetime civilians hasn't always been smooth in the past, I'm guessing that's where it's coming from. The draw-down forces veterans out, who feel bitter about it, and then on top of that civilians disapproving of/not understanding wartime service, stress due to difficulty of finding employment after perception of job security. It piles up, builds resentment . . . it would be better to have preventative measures like reintegration programs and investment in vet benefits, than reactionary like police force buildup.

Ever since the VA fiasco, I can see how this is heading south and the government is in more fear of internal revolution. You have a great point, Sgt Private RallyPoint Member and SPC Private RallyPoint Member that if nothing is done about it, it will turn into another Bolshevik revolution of 1917

I used to serve as the Chief of the Law Enforcement Threat Information Center (LETIC) at US Northern Command. We monitored and assessed all threats against Dept. of Defense facilities, personnel, and missions.
When the DHS assessment was published identifying returning veterans as potential threats, it was disheartening. Sure, there are a few crazies in any demographic group, but to collectively assess those that wore the uniform as a threat to our country was demeaning, and frankly, an inaccurate portrayal of the overwhelming majority of those that served.
