How do you find Georgia Army National Guard units?

I am currently a member of the SCARNG, but I am getting married next month. My fiancé is an Active Duty soldier stationed at Fort Stewart. I was told to find a unit and heys be able to transfer me. I don’t mind the drive back and forth to South Carolina, but GA Guard has 100% tuition and that would be a big help to me.

Find a unit that has an opening for your MOS, the process isn't that difficult.

Hope this helps - more or less your current unit will get in touch with your current state's Interstate Transfer Coordinator (IST). The IST will then locate any possible units to which you can transfer. As well there may be a chance to reclass.

What happens when a member of the National Guard wants to move from one state to another? Is he required to travel to the original state for drills?

There are plenty of units in the Fort Stewart area. I was up in Statesboro for many years. The current unit is the 177th Brigade Engineer Battalion. A lot will depend on your MOS.

And I was just curious, I have am interest in such things, what major did you want? STEM? Clinical? Did you want am ROTC at all? Maybe USMC platoon leaders course (PLC)? Which svc did you want if you were gonna go warrant or commissioned? Or did you want senior enlisted? If you want clinical, look also at USPHS COSTEP, the USPHS analogue to ROTC, I'll try to send you some other stuff you might find useful...if she's in school, if you can explain about his ambitions, I might be able to suggest stuff for him as well, if you'd like, I just like looking up that kind of stuff, of gives me something to do, I've got little else to do, I'm total perm disabled, so I try to help out on here with such stuff, just for something to do, I like to gab about such things...also, what other svcs have you and he looked at, or do you both want to stay Army? Again, just wondered, hope is all of use....

The process has to be started by SC but one of these two should be able to help you find a unit.
