How do you get a DD 214 or separation documents from the Army Reserves?

I want to reenlist in the army national guard. Can a recruiter help me with this? Is there any way I can obtain these documents, if so were and how?? I dont have contact with my unit anymore tragically. Any help would be nice.

You can request your DD 214 online at archives.gov.

For what it's worth - I would request a certified copy of your 214 to have on hand from the sorces mentioned.

You will not get a DD 214 for reserve service, the only way you will get a DD 214 in the reserves is if you were called up and put on active orders. As a reservist I have 4 DD 214's one from Basic and AIT, 3 for active duty orders when I was called up. But you can get a copy of anything that was sent to IPERMS as others below have noted there are ways to access your old records hopefully everything was IPERMed??
