How do you get notified on whether or not you got accepted into OCS?

I recently put in my OCS packet. With that being said, I’m unsure how I will be notified if I have been accepted or not.

One of 2 things may happen:

1. 3-5 mysterious figures in a dark military style SUV will come in the middle of the night and grab you, put a bag over your head and stuff you in the trunk. You will wake up at training.

OR

2. A MILPER message will be sent out

You should get a letter form the selection board with some kind of general school date, then later you will get PCS orders for WOC.

A lot of technically correct answers here... the "right" answer should be -- just like anything else in the military: you get notified by your unit! Which is to say, your Command gets the MILPER, they notify the members of the command. After that, yes, the list(s) for any school selections or promotions are made available online to all individuals who are serving! That's how it's meant to happen.

Have you completed the local interview? Is your packet submitted to your BDE or HRC? If BDE, then they will review it and interview you. After the interview and you are selected, your packet will be submitted to HRC. Then you wait for the next board.... then you wait for the MILPER with the selection list. I waited over the promised 90 day period. Sometimes it’s quick. Sometimes it takes more than three months. Just keep checking HRC website and FB page.

Are you currently on active duty? If so, I presume that packet was submitted through your division for one of the CG slots allocated per FY. If that is the case, were you told that you were chosen as one of the selected individuals? If so, the channels will be slightly different in terms of notification and the best advice that can be given is to speak with your servicing personnel officer/nco. If none of the above is true then that means you submitted a packet like the general pop to be reviewed by a convening board. If the second presumption is true all you need to do is go on the HRC website and click on the top links for access into the board schedules for 4QTR convening boards and find yours. Once you find that you will see when the board is supposed to convene and when it is supposed to recess. Then I would go into the Milper message archives and find the release of the prior year board results to base the tentative timeline on when to look out for notification. Finally, when the board is released you should receive a direct notification through your military email if you were selected. Furthermore, if you weren’t selected you will likely have to figure that out on your own by reviewing the released results. Hope that helps, good luck!

The MILPER Message is correct, but - if your unit ADJ and PERSNCO are on top of things, they'll see it and inform your chain. You may well find out from your PL or Squad Leader! But hey - aren't you already an LT, 2LT?!! That's what your profile says...
