It was a nice day. It was my 19th year on AD and experienced an infinite amount of stress. That was just part of my world at the time. I had always qualified expert and I felt confident. I fired and failed. I was tenacious and fired 3 more times and failed. I sat down on the bleachers and was deep in thought. I was humbled considering my aviation and armor background. I had failed to qualify on a 9 mm when I had qualified with a 120 mm. It was the first time I had intimations that I was no longer army material and I had to weigh my career with the army, and realized I had to hang up my boots. I had to be honest to myself and the army. A couple months later I realized I would have never had qualified because of my incessant tremors. A condition I did not know that afflicted me until my wife pointed it out. What I learned is immense stress can change people emotionally, mentally, and physically.
