Ok I would like to start a discussion here, how do you make your coffee when out in the field? Personally I use my MSR Whisperlight backpacking stove to heat up water for my coffee and shave with. Folgers makes the instant singles. So how do you make yours?

MSG (Join to see) yes it does. The only downside to the jetboil is the availability of fuel while deployed. It's a high pressure gas canister, that can't be shipped. But when going to the field, I was able to bring plenty to get me through.

Jetboil and french press is the best way. If you find yourself with out a canisters, like I did a few times, I used my metal canteen cup to heat up some water over an open flame.

Use the little camp burners to heat water for coffee and soups. Those dehydrated packets of camp food are so much better than MRE. Usually though when with my role II team, providers would bring a coffee maker since we would also have generator power for patient care.

If and when it was field safe/possible- heat tab, or pack stove and army coffee ration.
