SSgt Paul Esquibel 5401532 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have an associate who needs a copy of his naturalization document he received through the Marine Corp that our company requires for a more thorough background check. He went to the VA and he was informed that it would cost him an excess of $350 and a 8-9 month wait time. Can anyone assist because I thought all our records were on the VA website. They did give him a .gov site my employer can validate his citizenship but I think they are going to need the hard copy. Any assistance would be great because if we don’t get this form in the next 30 days he may be terminated. How do you obtain your naturalization document from the VA? 2020-01-01T13:44:56-05:00 SSgt Paul Esquibel 5401532 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have an associate who needs a copy of his naturalization document he received through the Marine Corp that our company requires for a more thorough background check. Not only would that document have to go to State, a US passport is just as good as naturalization paperwork. Based on your post, the VA is not nor does it represent the US Immigration to obtain copy of any Naturalization document. Doesn&#39;t it look highly awkward and unusual for your associate to receive Naturalization documents &quot;through&quot; the Marines? You probably meant &quot;while&quot; in the Marines. So, your associate is looking for his or her Certificate of Naturalization as proof of U.S. citizenship for he or she has gotten citizenship through the naturalization process. Right? <br />The VA simply cannot issue copy naturalization document to no one. It is not like a DD 214. He or she must apply through Immigration, not the VA. Form N-565 or Form N- 600 is the application to replace a Citizenship Document for U.S. citizens who have lost their Certificate of Citizenship to get a replacement document.<br />Another caviar, where is your associate passport? It is as good as the certificate of Citizenship even if it has expired. No Security Clearance officer or agent will require just the hard copy of that certificate if your associate hold a US passport. Unless... .... never mind. Not my business...
