There are several organizations out there that claim to "help" veterans find jobs. In my search I have found several search engines that require a 4 year bachelors degree, want to take my GI Bill for training, or need off the wall experience that a veteran would not possess.

I think that there needs to be more of a global initiative and incentive for companies to invest in veterans. I know it's sad when you have to encourage corporate America to hire veterans, but it is what it is. I think the current Show Your Stripes initiate is a good start, but there is a long way to go.

There are several initiatives out there to help veterans from companies such as lockheed martin, GE, boeing, etc. However, some of the qualifications from the employers are far fetched. Personally I would like to see some of these well established organizations provide internships rather than jobs. I feel that internships not only provide work experience, but provide on the job experience, whats expected on your resume, and the real inside scoop on what it is to become successful in the civilian community. I feel that by doing this it would allow veterans from all walks of life to better understand how and what they would like to pursue as opposed to having to pursue a particular field. If that makes sense.
