There for a while active duty people being med boarded would be done at the VA to cut down on wait times & red tape. Not sure if they are still doing that or not.Response by SSG Ralph Watkins made Feb 9 at 2016 11:38 AM2016-02-09T11:38:44-05:002016-02-09T11:38:44-05:00SMSgt Cary Baker1290288<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Actually, look up your County's or District's VA Representative. He/She will set this all up for you. You will need a copy of your Medical Records - the County VA Rep will sit down with you and look at few years of your records. He/She will also fill out a form to help determine any possible disability to be reviewed by the VA in your State. Once this is done, give them a few weeks, the VA will contact you for an appointment so they can conduct a physical. For me, the County VA Rep listed 7 items for disability review, I got 2 with 10% each, and 0% for the other 2 - for a total of 20%. I'm in the process of going back for a re-evaluation. Hope this helps.Response by SMSgt Cary Baker made Feb 9 at 2016 11:51 AM2016-02-09T11:51:54-05:002016-02-09T11:51:54-05:00SFC Claude Hatch1290648<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I called Fort Carson Retirement services and they told me you can't go back and get a percentage from the army once you've retired.Response by SFC Claude Hatch made Feb 9 at 2016 1:38 PM2016-02-09T13:38:48-05:002016-02-09T13:38:48-05:00SFC Cindy Paris1291664<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You do not schedule a medical review board like when you were on active duty. Instead it is a VA benefits review. SMSgt Cary Baker gave you the right process. You can start at your local county VA office or if there is a VA hospital or clinic you can start there with patient assistance. The VA may request additional information from you to substantiate the rating issues. Normally, that evidence is in your medical record, but civilian medical records might be needed to show continued problems.Response by Lt Col James (Jim) Jay, MMG, BSBA made Feb 10 at 2016 8:42 AM2016-02-10T08:42:07-05:002016-02-10T08:42:07-05:00SSgt David Howard1309562<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>How long have you been retired?
