in 1986 Birmingham VA it was bad in many ways . now it is much much better . better care all around with a dedicated parking deck, not one barrowed from another hospital .

the local clinic is AWESOME! trying to make an appointment at Palo Alto when I was working - I had to take a day off of work just for trying to phone the office all day. The colonoscopy clinic, you can't contact them, Dr.sends reference and they contact you. Had an appointment at different clinic one day(MRI or similar) showed up half-hour early, got in 20 min early and got out before my appt was scheduled (so awesome) went to GI clinic to try to contact colonoscopy clinic, and the receptionist at the GI clinic couldn't contact the colonoscopy clinic even though the colonoscopy clinic is inside the GI clinic

Where I live, the VAMC at Ann Arbor, Mi
Is closest. I get excellent service and haven’t had any service probs. There is one worker I believe needs to work at being more of a service person and quit picking on us service connected warriors to fill out a ‘means test’Form. Ir says in my jacket I get a VA comp check and I live at home taking care of mom.. maybe she is doing some of her job but every time i come across her she wants me to fill that form out.. Work on the pensions.. and leave us service connected Vets Alone or she may see more of ptsd coming to the
Surface !

What I have found seen or heard is that there is a bit problem with different locations and their ability to help vets. The knowledge or care to help them isn’t consistent. At times claims and getting the care is a problem. Some are having to go all over the place to get decisions made or constant repeat visits trying to get things done.

Motorist staffer struck me, as I hobbled in the middle of the crosswalk, in-front of Physical Therapy Bldg 150. The VA Police refused getting my statement. I was dispatched to St Mary’s Trauma Unit. I sustained and ongoing (physical, emotional, and mental) TRAUMA. Diagnosed with Agoraphobia, which doesn’t help healing. Less than 2% of the National Average is diagnosed with Agoraphobia. Home-based VA Primary Care is limited in scope with post trauma Physical Medicine. Medicare HMO refuses treating me. A Complaint with my U.S. Congressman. I get it, a VA Police, like in the military, Unit before family mentality. I put my Agoraphobia in the closet, go to LB VAMC, have a meltdown, VA Police puts me out of my misery, and blames it on my PTSD.
This medically-retired Veteran homeowner, nothing beats suffering in my own home..

Still the same on Guam, being over seen by VA Hawaii office, is just a Big "NO" all the time. The veteran's on Guam have known this for years, ever since the 60's, and very, very frustrated.
When is the main VA administration office going to trust the Guam VA office to over see it's own people. The veteran's here were trusted to serve in the military, now we can't be obligated to over see our own people with VA matters.
It might just be me, but I don't believe in someone sitting in a office that is 3950 miles away, to give me the VA help that I've been trying to get for "YEARS", and I mean "YEARS".
A sample of the proficiency of the Hawaii VA office, it took me "7" LONG YEARS, just to get a VA identification ID.
Sign: Just one former paratrooper that has been trying to get his back taken care of, for YEARS, YEARS, and YEARS, with no results but "NO" from the Hawaii VA office.

Thank you Veterans Affairs for at least asking the question.

Spokane, WA
Tucson, AZ
Prescott, AZ
and now here at Sturgis, SD
One not so good:
Phoenix, AZ but the only complaint was that is was so busy I felt rushed.

The VA system is broken...to many at the top...very few doing the actual work...if someone in Washington with Clout is reading this PLEASE help us...Have waited as long as 3 months to get a response from Asheville, North Carolina VA...

How is the VA doing? On a scale of 1-10, I have to say 6. - Sorry no one gets a 10 and from 6-9 is three points. While I realize certain aspects of the VA takes time to review; or check out, why can’t they combine some of the check-ins or health requirements in on meeting.

A lot better it's just a long way to travel for me, I need a heart/lung transplant and even the 60 miles to Evansville with oxygen in tow is not easy. The trip to Marion is impossible, by the time I get there I just need to sleep.

Poorly, you keep your discrimination active between re 911 and Post 911 Vets. You need to stop the age discrimination and treat ALL Veterans equally in rsting , appeals, and medical treatments!!
