My parents and grandparents did it and many of those who graduated from high school in my class (1960) are still married to their high school sweetheart (or dead). Most that I have known who married in the mid-sixties or later didn't make it too long. Most vows you take in marriage state "for better or worse, for richer or poorer." Marriage is a promise, a covenant by God, but He no longer seems to be a priority in civility these days. You take an oath to defend your country against all enemies foreign and domestic. Those who survive long marriages took an oath to defend their marriage against all evil. Congratulations to all who have endured the highs and lows of living and loving their spouse until they die.
