If you pass your next one, then fail again in less than 12 months, then chapter paperwork can begin. If you fail one and stay on the program and keep failing them, the Commander can begin chapter papers. But, before that happens, you will need to seek a medical provider to see if there is a medical condition that is keeping you from losing weight. You will also need to seek out a nutritionist for nutrition class(es). Counseling also needs to happen. These things are all part of the packet. If you are losing weight and/or losing percentage, then the Commander can deem that this is progress and possibly NOT begin chapter papers. Get with your Leadership to fully understand where you stand and what process they are considering. You couldn’t tell me ANYTHING when I was getting out I was young and dumb and thought I had it bad trust me on this brother the army is a amazing place and a even better career. Unless you come from a very weathly family that will pave you’re way it’s not easy to match the living in the civilian sector and still keep your pride at least. You CAN spell out words, and utilize the writing skills that you were taught in school. Trying to parse this mess is annoying.

So, from what I think you are trying to say, you busted tape in June, and had BMI of 26%. The end goal is to achieve a BMI of 20%. You recently got taped again, and your BMI is now 22%, that's some damn good progress, and is a very good sign to your command that you are giving this your best. I hope you are following a dieticians outline and not losing weight without guidance.

From my experience, and by no means am I telling you that this will happen, as long as you are making significant progress, coupled with how valuable a Soldier you are (Total Soldier Evaluation), command can hold off on submitting the chapter packet. The regulation states that a chapter be submitted, How long it takes to "submit" that chapter depends upon you and your command.

As SSGT(P) Thomas Livingston stated, read and familiarize yourself with AR 600-9.

Thank you for your service.
