How does it work to reclassify from 11C to 68W? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-does-it-work-to-reclassify-from-11c-to-68w

I'm new to the Army, about 6 months in and was wondering how it would work to reclass to 68w? I've heard you can reclass after being in for a year but I'm not sure because most of the things I've heard are pnn. I originally wanted 11b but got the shaft with being a chuck. And if I'm going to reclass I'm not staying infantry. Can you help a brand new private with advice on switching mos's? You can only voluntary Reclass if your MOS is balanced or over strength and you're moving into a more under strength MOS. Right now your MOS is balanced and 68W is understrength.
The second way is that once you're in your reenlistment window you can request to reclass. HRC will decide based on the strengths of each MOS. The only way to reclass is through your career counselor. Please don't bring any Reclass 4187s to your S1.
If you wanted to be an 11B still you will need a memorandum from Infantry branch accepting you, or a Ranger tab. It's still processed the same way. They have a 38BW4 which is a Civil Affairs Medical Sgt. You go through CA Assessment and selection, airborne school, MOS training, language training, and the first half of Special Operations Medical (SOC-M) school with Rangers, SARCs, SOAR, etc. where upon completion, you will assume the medic role in your CA team.

With a school like that under your belt and Airborne it should be a breeze becoming 68W proper. My buddy left 74D and became 38BW4 and went from zero deployments to three 4-6 month long deployments. Sometimes there is no shortcut, but the road less travelled is totally worth it.
