How does one get the Combat Infantry Badge and the Combat Action Badge (I know you can only get one but I'm looking for answers for both)?

Short answer- CIB- Combat Infantry Badge- awarded for serving in a designated combat area doing combat operations in a 11 series MOS. CAB- Combat Action Badge- awarded to other MOS's (FA, EN, AR) for doing the same thing.

Also says it can be direct or indirect fire.

Actually, you cannot have both, it's one in the other! But I guess if you were Army and then re-enlisted Marines you could possibly get one if each. I was told no you cannot.

Be serving with INf unit and slot and be on orders as inf then move to another unit maybe tour and get a cab.

You can earn both by virtue of reclassification from Infantry to any other mos, or vise versa . But you can only wear one....
