It is called Active Guard or Reserve (AGR). Find a position and fill out a packet. AGR in the Army National Guard, you are at least limited to your state. I was prior service Marine Corps, got out, went back to school, then found out about the Army National Guard. I drilled for a few years, then I found out about Recruiting and Retention Bn. I put in a packet and the rest is history. I was AGR until my health began failing and I was medically retired. It’s a very rewarding career and a great way to get 20 years under your belt.
